If glamour photography is the pursuit of the conventional and contemporary sexuality and allure, then Creative Glamour Photography presents and evokes those same feelings, but in new and different ways.

Creative Glamour mixes the best of beautiful girls, with different ways of expressing sexuality, or focussing on their allure in new visions.

Each shoot is fully described for the intent, the background thinking, useful hot-tips and importantly the simple lighting recipe you can use as a basis for creating your own images.

This book includes the following shoots:

    Industrial

    Fake Shower

    Brick Wall

    Wet Drapes

    Fashion Glamour

    Dungeon Chains

    Kitchen Voyeur

    Corridor Environmental

    Simple Drapes

I think photographers are clever and intelligent people who tend to think visually.   What they need in a book are some sample pictures and a quick guide as to how the image was created and then they can take it from there quite successfully on their own thank you very much.

This is an enthusiastic, warts and all, guide through a series of real, genuine shoots.

I had strict rules for each shoot, it should take no more than an hour, there were no re-takes.  If I didn't get it right I still had to publish it.

That's what you have here, the results from 9 shoots covering all sorts of territory, lighting and style.

The lighting is mostly simple.   Although I have used studio strobes, there is really nothing here you cannot recreate with off-camera speedlights.

Similarly with the sets, the sets are simple, and simple to build.   Often all you need is paper backdrop and a couple of drapes.

I just want you to treat these shots as inspiration - to take these ideas and run with them.  Not to get bogged down in technical stuff - instead get on with the important part-shooting!

So have fun and I always look forward to seeing results.

There is a 2 Disc DVD program where you can see the real behind the scenes footage and all the details of exactly how the shoots are setup.

We want to move beyond genre and cliché and look towards expressing modern girls and boys in a modern, twenty first century way.

It should not be all tits and bums, though they will play a part, but it should be about  new ways of looking, posing and locating subjects.

Creative Glamour models can do new things, they've moved beyond the pin-up, beyond the lads-mag.    (Although re-creating a pin-up does have a certain post-modern sense to it).

One of the best forums for such a view is the world of advertising, where sex appeal and aspirational settings are common place, but represented in new and often astounding ways.

So the photographer needs to think about juxtapositions, contrasts, new modes of sexuality, new social mores about what is acceptable in main-stream glamour.

But all the time, we should be sensitive to the need to create something that still contains art somewhere in its core.

I don't mean “art” (finger quotes) in the old fashioned, high-brow sense, but that we are creating images that contain something more than just a naked girl.

Above all else, creative glamour photography should contain a very contemporary, up to the minute sensibility.  It should be aware and use and reference modern thoughts, picture styles and fashions.

It should mix the best of beautiful girls, with different ways of expressing sexuality, or focussing on their allure in new visions.
